Alkaline Rechargeable (RAM) XtraLife Batteries are Truly Advanced Batteries which can be used in place of standard disposable Alkaline batteries, but have the big advantage of being Rechargeable up to 500 times*, depending on use and number of times recharged (*around 100 times if fully discharged each time). The more often you recharge them, the longer they last!. And because they are full 1.5 Volt cells, they do not suffer the limitations of use of Ni-Cad or Ni-Mh rechargeable batteries - which are only 1.2Volt, so can often be used where Ni-Cd or Ni-Mh won't work. Please see the Technical Specifications Page for full details. |
|
Don't confuse these with standard Alkaline batteries which are sometimes advertised as being 'specially selected' for recharging in a 'special charger', which certain standard alkaline batteries can anyway - though not very often and not for a full charge - these are specifically designed to be recharged up to 500 times (only in a RAM charger).
|
- Full 1.5 Volt Cell (unlike all other rechargeables, which are only 1.2V)
- NO re-charging Memory Effect!
- Very Environmentally friendly compared to other batteries (No Toxins, Cadmium or Mercury!)
- Come fully charged and ready to use
- Long shelf-life of up to 7 years!
- Excelent charge retention when stored or not in use, giving:
- Excellent performance in intermittent use
- No need to fully discharge before recharging
- AA cells are 2000mAh, AAA cells are 800mAh (typical inital capacity)
Can be used in most places normal disposable Alkaline batteries can be used, except very high discharge applications (i.e., high M-Pixel Digital Cameras). They work best in intermittent, low-medium current use, with regular recharging (no need to discharge fuly!). Typical uses are:
- GPS & Sat Nav
- Electronic Toys & Games & Musical Instruments
- Personal Audio & Video Players
- Personal Care and Beauty Products
- Torches, Lanterns and Emergency Lighting
- Metal Detectors & Electronic Instrumentation
- Film Cameras and Flash units
- Wireless/Mobile Phones & Pagers
- Low-Medium Power Digital cameras
- Hand-held PCs and PDAs
- Wireless Computing devices
- Calculators and organisers
- Remote Control units
- Electronic Locks
- Backup Power Supplies
*Although not particularly suited, may be used (with reduced life) to advantage in some Digital Cameras (compared to the costs of standard Alkaline batteries), which cannot use other (1.2 Volt) rechargeable batteries
|
|
*XtraLife Batteries are rated at 100 times rechargeable, as an average life that can be expected if used until flat, then recharged. If they are re-charged regularly (before going flat), they can be recharged up to 500 times. Please see the Technical Specifications Page for full details. |

|
*EnviroCharger charges up to four AA or AAA Pure Energy Alkaline Rechargeable Batteries and is supplied in all Charger and Saver packs. Approximate charge time 2-6 hours, depending on the level of discharge and number of batteries being recharged at the same time. May take longer if charging four AA batteries that are very discharged. Regular recharging is recommended. |
|
|
*These batteries MUST ONLY be re-charged in a suitable charger (see options below). Do NOT attempt to recharge them in a Ni-Cad or Ni-Mh charger, or charge other types of batteries in the EnviroCharger as this is hazardous - as is charging any type of battery in the wrong type of charger - and could cause a fire |
|
*New regulations to be introduced late in 2008 require that all batteries are disposed of safely at a registered battery recycling centre. |
