    Which type of Battery to use?
All battery types have their advantages and disadvantages. Which type you should use will depend on the application; there is no 'ideal' battery for all applications. To help you decide which battery technology is best for your needs, we have created the following tables, based on AA Batteries (cells) of various Chemical compositions.
'High drain' devices are items like Digital Cameras and Radio Controled Toys. RC Toys and Digital cameras are very demanding on batteries, especially large toys and cameras with high mega-pixel resolution and/or a large LCD display, as both of these features use a lot of power. However, all makes and models of cameras differ as to exactly which batteries will or won't work in them.
Having said that, all digital cameras need high power batteries and alkaline batteries (disposable or rechargeable) are just not powerful enough and will either not work at all, show 'low battery' (even when new or fully charged), or will work only for a very short time. Disposable alkaline batteries that have been 'refreshed' in a charger like the EverCharge or ReZap will most likely not work at all, as they are not really high enough power in the first place and never regain their full initial charge after refreshing.
Standard disposable alkaline batteries are not actually recharged when put into chargers such as the EverCharge or ReZap, they are 'refreshed' - basically a process which allows the battery to release energy that has become trapped inside during use. These batteries only release around 1/10th or less of their total chemical energy on initial use; the rest is unusable, trapped inside by the normal discharge process. Refreshing in a special charger can free up this potential energy, but does not restore the battery to the charge potential it had when new and the more times your refresh it, the lower the available charge and voltage. This is why these batteries can only be refreshed around 10-15 times.

* Suitablility will depend on voltage tolerance of the device: it must work happily on 1.2V Batteries. Unless specifically designed for NiMh/NiCd Batteries (many R-C Toys are), the problem increases as more Batteries are used together and as the battery discharges and the voltage drops further.
